Policy Analyst for International Education

Job Summary:
The BC Public Service Agency is seeking a skilled Policy Analyst to join our team. As a Policy Analyst, you will play a key role in developing and implementing policies for the Offshore School Program. You will work closely with the Director, Program Coordinator, and other team members to ensure that our policies align with provincial educational standards and requirements.
The Role:
In this position, you will be responsible for conducting policy analysis, preparing reports, and developing recommendations aligned with Ministry priorities. You will also have the opportunity to work in the dynamic field of international education, engaging with people across the globe and gaining valuable experience through interactions with school stakeholders worldwide.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct policy analysis and research to inform policy decisions
• Prepare reports and presentations to communicate policy findings and recommendations
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with provincial educational standards and requirements
• Collaborate with the Director, Program Coordinator, and other team members to ensure effective policy implementation
• Stay up-to-date with changes in provincial educational policies and procedures to ensure that our policies remain effective and relevant
Requirements:
• Degree in social sciences, business, or public administration, international relations, or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in policy analysis and development
• Minimum 2 years of experience managing projects and/or project components
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in the education sector, particularly at the K-12 level in British Columbia or Canada
• Experience in the K-12 international education sector
• Experience working, living, or studying in an international environment and/or other demonstrated intercultural competence
About this Position:
This position can be based out of any of the locations listed above. Flexible work options are available, and this position may be able to work up to five (5) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
