What is the opportunity?

At Royal Bank of Canada, we are seeking a skilled Investment Policy Analyst to join our Global Asset Management team. As an Investment Policy Analyst, you will play a critical role in assessing, interpreting, and implementing client investment policies to ensure operational effectiveness.

What will you do?

  • Read and interpret investment policy statements, statutes, and laws; annotate IPS statements and translate into Charles River Investment Management System or manual testing process.
  • Write tests in CRD ensuring rule construction are complete & accurate and adhere to quality review process.
  • Monitor and research policy alerts generated in CRD during pre-trade, post-trade, and batch compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including client service, investment team, operations, compliance, and legal to resolve open questions and issues.
  • Assist portfolio managers with trade issues relating to compliance, data exceptions, or processes.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Business related discipline.
  • Ability to help streamline processes to improve efficiencies.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate understanding of investing and financial securities.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with an order management system (Charles River Investment Management System preferred).
  • Familiarity with post/pre-trade monitoring of investment guidelines and relevant portfolio exposures using the Charles River IMS.

The expected salary range for this position is $50,000 - $85,000 depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions, and business needs.
