Job Description:

In this challenging role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients and healthcare professionals alike. As an Advanced Wound Care Specialist - Educator at Providence Health Care, you will provide expert consultative services to health care professionals for clients with complex wound/ostomy care needs.

You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate educational programs within the clinical area, in collaboration with the Chief of Professional Practice and Nursing and the Clinical Nurse Specialist for Wound Care and other nursing staff. You will also develop tools to evaluate the effectiveness of resources and educational programs.

Your expertise will be demonstrated and promoted through methods such as reviewing literature in the specialty area, consulting with experts, evaluating clinical practice, role modeling direct client care skills to staff, participating in case conferencing for complex cases, and providing theory-based information to problem-solve complex wound/ostomy care cases.

With your advanced nursing skills and knowledge of adult education principles, you will lead a group and provide teaching sessions to other members of the multidisciplinary team. You will also participate in research activities related to wound/ostomy care and in the development of quality improvement initiatives as requested.

This is a dynamic role that requires you to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team, prioritize and organize work independently, and adapt to new or unexpected events.
