Job Title: Carpenter Helper

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter Helper to join our team at JERRY WAKEFIELD CONSTRUCTION INC. As a Carpenter Helper, you will assist experienced carpenters and construction workers with various tasks on construction sites. Your attention to detail, strong work ethic, and ability to follow instructions will be essential in ensuring the successful completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload construction materials
  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades
  • Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
  • Assist with medical examiner duties
  • Help with aligning pipes during pipeline construction
  • Assist with drilling and blasting rock on construction sites
  • Assist with framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications
  • Pave and rake asphalt
  • Assist with demolishing buildings
  • Clean and pile salvaged materials
  • Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
  • Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in outdoor environments
  • Safety equipment experience
  • Manual dexterity and ability to handle heavy loads
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
