We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Leader to join our Emergency Department team at Northwest Employment Works. As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and facilitating the day-to-day operations of the Emergency Department.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and guidance to staff in the Emergency Department
- Facilitate the day-to-day operations of the Emergency Department, including patient care and departmental activities
- Collaborate with the Patient Care Manager and interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient and departmental outcomes
- Develop and implement strategies to improve patient safety and quality of care
- Provide mentorship and guidance to staff to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
- Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Current Certification in BLS and demonstrated ongoing competence through annual recertification
- Current certification in ACLS or completion within 3 months of hire
- Current completion of Canadian Triage Acuity Scale (CTAS) course
- Maintain an active membership with National Emergency Nurses Association (NENA)
- Current ENC(C) Certification or completion within 1 to 2 years of assuming the role and maintain the active certification
- Current Certificate in TNCC, or completion when course is available
- Certification in CPI in the last two years or completion when course is available
- Current certification in ENPC or completion when the course is available
- Current certification in PALS required when the course is available
- Certification in IV Therapy with demonstrated ongoing competence
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in a Critical Care Setting - Emergency Department is preferred
- Strong leadership skills and qualities with the ability to provide guidance and mentorship to staff
- Demonstrated skill in critical thinking and problem solving
- Demonstrated well-developed verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills
- Demonstrated competency in the skills of mediation, facilitation, negotiation, and delegation
