Highway Paving Operations Manager

Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Highway Paving Operations Manager to oversee the management and coordination of highway paving projects.
This field-based role requires a strong leader who can plan, organize, and direct highway paving operations while ensuring compliance with operational activities, technical requirements, budget, and timelines.
Main Responsibilities:- Health, Safety & Environmental responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to OH&S Regulations, Safety Policy, and other internal policies and directives.
- Provide leadership to crews and foster a positive safety culture among field staff and management.
- Participate in tailgate safety meetings and hazard assessments.
- Conduct site inspections to identify potential environmental and safety hazards.
- Develop and implement mitigating measures to minimize negative environmental impact.
- Prepare and issue reports related to work-related accidents, incidents, and environmental concerns.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise foremen and staff to ensure project specifications and benchmarks are met.
- Coordinate and schedule work activities, including logistics, equipment, labor, and subcontractors.
- Assist in preparing project master schedules and monitor progress.
- Liaise with consultants, owners, customers, subcontractors, and stakeholders regarding safety, project progress, scheduling, and change orders.
- Review QA/QC tests to ensure quality control requirements are met.
- Troubleshoot project concerns and make recommendations to resolve issues.
- Maintain awareness of project cost/budget performance and implement strategies to complete within budget.
- Address and resolve issues among crew members, administer discipline according to company guidelines.
- Establish and maintain good relationships with employees, clients, and internal/external resources.
- Relevant experience in the construction industry.
- Ability to read and understand project specs and contract documents.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer skills: Outlook, Excel, Word.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and clean current driver's abstract.
A competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits package and opportunities for career advancement.
