We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Assistant/Secretary to join our team at Bev Facey Community High. As a key member of our school community, you will provide essential support to students, teachers, and staff in a dynamic and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers with instructional and non-instructional tasks in the classroom and with other school activities.
  • Support students with accommodations within the Learning Resources Support Room.
  • Provide routine and repetitive instructional support to students under the direction of the teacher.
  • Perform a broad range of general office tasks to assist in the positive and efficient operation of the school or department.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
  • Educational Assistant Certificate or comparable education
  • First Aid certificate
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
  • Courses related to working with students with special needs
  • Minimum of one-year related experience
Desirable Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong oral and listening communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills combined with tact and diplomacy
  • Strong organizational skills, time management skills, and pacing skills to support student scheduling
  • Reliability and dependability
  • Ability to work effectively as an active team member in cooperation with other team members and students
  • Comfort and competency working with personal computers and other technologies to support student learning, including communication devices
