About the Role

The Server position at Retirement Concepts and West Coast Seniors Housing Management is a key member of our team, providing exceptional customer service to residents, guests, and the public in our dining rooms and resident lounges.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the dining room for all services, including setting tables, stocking necessary items, and assisting with food and beverage preparation and presentation.
  • Carry out general cleaning duties in the dining room, including clearing and bussing tables, scraping and washing dishes, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Establish and maintain a positive atmosphere in the dining room, promoting the happiness, self-respect, and physical safety of each resident.
  • Promote and maintain positive communication and relationships among staff, residents, and the public.
  • Perform other duties as required, including housekeeping and laundry tasks.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Grade 10 or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a dining room environment is an asset.
  • Food Safe Level 1 Certificate and Serving It Right Certificate as applicable.
  • WHMIS Certificate and ability to operate related food service equipment.
  • Demonstrates collaborative and team working skills, with the ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
  • Ability to pass a vulnerable sector Criminal Record Check and be in good health, physically able to perform the duties of the position.
