Job Title: Director of Security

Job Summary:

The Director of Security is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of guests, employees, and property at Bisha Hotel Toronto. This includes coordinating security operations, developing and implementing safety protocols, and maintaining a secure environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate security operations, including scheduling, training, and equipment maintenance
  • Develop and implement safety protocols, including emergency response plans and security procedures
  • Maintain a secure environment, including monitoring CCTV systems and responding to security incidents
  • Collaborate with hotel departments to ensure a safe and secure environment for guests and employees
  • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and implement a key control program, including master key distribution and key production
  • Develop and maintain security procedures to protect safety deposit boxes and conduct semi-annual inspections of the system
  • Maintain CCTV security systems, radio and paging equipment, and alarm systems
  • Develop and manage a secure, confidential record system for incident reports, criminal trespass notices, and photographs
  • Compile and analyze security statistics, including room losses, total incidents, employee accidents, and guest accidents
  • Provide training and guidance to security personnel on safety procedures and protocols
  • Develop and implement a bloodborne pathogen exposure control program and maintain adherence to OSHA regulations
  • Conduct investigations into work-related injuries and maintain accurate records
  • Responsible for the search, storage, and return of lost and found items
  • Maintain and update master files of all MSDS information for all hotel departments
  • Conduct an annual inventory of all chemicals used by all departments in the hotel
  • Develop and implement a first aid, CPR, and fire extinguisher training program for hotel employees
  • Oversee TIPS and first-aid training of all security officers
  • Develop cooperative working relationships between security/safety staff and other hotel employees and outside law enforcement personnel
  • Network with other local hotel security directors to discuss security-related issues

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and local, state, and federal laws pertaining to security personnel
  • Able to make decisions on imperfect information and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong investigative skills and ability to analyze security statistics
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and minimum five years of experience as a hotel director of security or five years of law enforcement management experience
