Job Title: Property Accountant

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Property Accountant to join our team at CAPREIT. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and maintaining accounting records, examining and analyzing financial data, and preparing financial statements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Analyze and interpret financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Reconcile accounts and ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • Prepare and analyze budgets and forecasts to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to management and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and other supporting documents.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to management and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • College diploma or university degree in Accounting or Business.
  • CMA/CGA designation or in progress.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of financial statement preparation experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other financial software.
