Job Description
We're seeking a highly skilled Fund Accounting Director to join our team. As a key member of our Fund Administration department, you'll be responsible for providing a full range of fund accounting and administration services to private equity fund clients. This includes:
- Preparing and reviewing Net Asset Value (NAV) statements and ensuring smooth service delivery to clients
- Managing a team of Fund Accountants and training staff on all aspects of the NAV process
- Working with banks, auditors, brokers, and custodians to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Approving fee schedules and ensuring all calculations follow applicable fund documents
- Reviewing and approving investor allocations, waterfall calculations, and custody trading documents
- Ensuring all Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements are met
- Responding to client queries and resolving any issues
- Reviewing and signing schedules, reports, and files to ensure compliance with organization controls
- Resource allocation to ensure all work is carried out and Service Level Agreements are met
- Approving payment of fund expenses and ensuring controls are followed
- Assisting with the preparation and review of audited financial statements and annual audits
- Reviewing reporting for regulatory authorities
- Establishing fund or client-specific procedures and ensuring cross-training and cover in place for all services provided to clients
- Helping with the growth of the local office
- Identifying opportunities for improving the NAV process, technological improvements, and client reporting
Requirements
- Post-secondary education/University Degree with a concentration in finance or accounting
- Demonstrable experience working in the fund administration industry with experience managing staff
- Experience with fund administration software, such as Geneva, Investran, or Yardi, or working knowledge of Bloomberg
- High proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- In-depth understanding of the private equity fund administration industry, including multiple fund structures, fee calculations, financial instruments, and fund offering documentation review
- Completion or interest in a professional accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA, ACCA, ICAEW, CFA, or equivalent)
