About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Reliability Engineer to join our team at Finning. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and report on equipment failures, conducting field research and data collection to identify root causes.
  • Analyze components' performance, including life, durability, and history, to optimize maintenance schedules.
  • Manage service letters and updates for equipment on-site, ensuring timely and effective implementation.
  • Analyze and report equipment performance in terms of availability and other specific KPIs, providing actionable insights for improvement.
  • Provide technical support to drive improvement projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Monitor and maintain preventive maintenance programs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Identify, report, and support investigation of equipment failures, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain fleet reports on technical and operational indicators, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Conduct condition monitoring of mining equipment, analyzing electronic data and fluid samples to optimize performance.
  • Collect and report data on component performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Monitor and develop trend information on payload management practices, providing recommendations for optimization.
  • Support and drive process improvement initiatives, collaborating with teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Provide technical support to maintenance personnel, resolving technical issues and implementing solutions.
  • Coordinate and support Caterpillar requests, test equipment, and product improvement initiatives, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Manage Caterpillar technical information and product improvement information, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.

    Requirements

    • Post-secondary education in Mechanical, Mining, or Material Engineering.
    • Professional registration and/or membership in committees and/or technical societies.
    • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an industrial environment, such as mining or oil and gas.
    • Experience with CAT mining equipment, including Large Mining Machines, is an asset.
    • Experience with CAT instruments, such as SIS2.0, Dealer Connect, TMIWEB, ET, and VIMS, is an asset.
    • Understanding of equipment design, engineering drawings, design standards, and specifications.
    • Mechanical aptitudes, including an understanding of Mining Machine components.
    • Understanding of condition monitoring, including SOS.
    • Proficiency in MS Office packages.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing/fabrication methodologies.
    • Accuracy in work and strong attention to detail.
    • Time management, prioritization, and independent problem-solving skills.
    • A Class 5 driver's license is a requirement for this role.
