About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Reliability Engineer to join our team at Finning. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and report on equipment failures, conducting field research and data collection to identify root causes.
- Analyze components' performance, including life, durability, and history, to optimize maintenance schedules.
- Manage service letters and updates for equipment on-site, ensuring timely and effective implementation.
- Analyze and report equipment performance in terms of availability and other specific KPIs, providing actionable insights for improvement.
- Provide technical support to drive improvement projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
- Monitor and maintain preventive maintenance programs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Identify, report, and support investigation of equipment failures, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain fleet reports on technical and operational indicators, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Conduct condition monitoring of mining equipment, analyzing electronic data and fluid samples to optimize performance.
- Collect and report data on component performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Monitor and develop trend information on payload management practices, providing recommendations for optimization.
- Support and drive process improvement initiatives, collaborating with teams to achieve business objectives.
- Provide technical support to maintenance personnel, resolving technical issues and implementing solutions.
- Coordinate and support Caterpillar requests, test equipment, and product improvement initiatives, ensuring seamless execution.
- Manage Caterpillar technical information and product improvement information, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Mechanical, Mining, or Material Engineering.
- Professional registration and/or membership in committees and/or technical societies.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an industrial environment, such as mining or oil and gas.
- Experience with CAT mining equipment, including Large Mining Machines, is an asset.
- Experience with CAT instruments, such as SIS2.0, Dealer Connect, TMIWEB, ET, and VIMS, is an asset.
- Understanding of equipment design, engineering drawings, design standards, and specifications.
- Mechanical aptitudes, including an understanding of Mining Machine components.
- Understanding of condition monitoring, including SOS.
- Proficiency in MS Office packages.
- Knowledge of manufacturing/fabrication methodologies.
- Accuracy in work and strong attention to detail.
- Time management, prioritization, and independent problem-solving skills.
- A Class 5 driver's license is a requirement for this role.
