Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Reliability Engineer to join our team at Weir Minerals Canada in Fort McMurray, AB. As a Reliability Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability of our equipment and providing technical support to our customers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Technical Support: Provide technical expertise to Sales, Field & Process Engineering, and Weir Customers & their Reliability Engineering groups to resolve issues with our products installed and sold in Canada, primarily pump product lines.
  2. Equipment Inspection: Conduct inspections using various techniques, including measurements, x-ray, Ultrasonic Testing (UT), microstructure, hardness testing, and fitment studies, including statistical tolerance analysis.
  3. Root Cause Analysis: Identify the root cause of failures and propose corrective and preventative actions to drive mitigation through design/process, maintenance, and training changes.
  4. Technical Documentation: Create technical reports, standards, presentations, inspection test plans (ITP), work instructions (WI), process flow diagrams, piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and estimates.
  5. Safety First: Demonstrate a 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's Degree (Engineering)
  2. P. Eng
  3. 2-4 years of experience with direct design/field experience in the mechanical and structural design of heavy industrial equipment.
  4. Ability to create 3D CAD models and 2D engineering detailed drawings.
  5. Experience working in the mining industry and/or around centrifugal pumps preferred.
