Nurse Specialist Cord Blood Program Coordinator

Canadian Blood Services is seeking a skilled Nurse Specialist Cord Blood to join our dynamic Medical Laboratory & Stem Cell Services team.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Cord Blood Bank team to ensure the promotion, development, and maintenance of a quality-driven environment in accordance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Conduct maternal interviews and assess responses to questions to evaluate donor suitability for cord blood donation, including informed consent, medical history, and phlebotomy.
- Perform ex-utero umbilical cord blood collection as required.
- Provide training, support, and mentorship to the cord blood bank team and hospital customers.
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing from a recognized registered nursing program, with a minimum of three to six years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Licensed to practice as a Registered nurse in the province of employment.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and experience in Obstetrical Nursing and/or Labour and Delivery are preferred.
- Venepuncture experience is mandatory.

- Shifts are scheduled between Monday to Friday, 7am to 3pm, with occasional travel required to the Canadian Blood Services office.
