Job Summary

The Logistics Supervisor will oversee hourly employees on a shift within a department, focusing on distribution workloads with emphasis on accuracy, efficiency, and employee safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct employees in the operation of plant equipment to meet order fulfillment rates and inventory accuracy.
  • Prepare progress reports and ensure regular maintenance of equipment.
  • Maximize attendance and follow-up to reduce absenteeism by coaching, conducting accident investigations, and taking disciplinary statements and administering discipline in line with the DC's Discipline Policy.
  • Provide leadership by instilling team goals and objectives; foster good staff relationships in order to gain commitment from hourly employees.
  • Evaluate machinery and equipment for safety and train hourly employees prior to use.
  • Evaluate employee safety and compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act and Quality Compliance with HACCP procedures.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a unionized transportation and distribution environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent through continuing education in food processing, engineering technology, or business management.
  • A strong communicator with written and oral abilities, confident and decisive with conflict resolution skills.
  • Willingness to relocate for promotional opportunities and career development.
