  • Alpine Solutions Avalanche Services seeks a highly skilled Avalanche Mitigation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our avalanche control team, you will be responsible for maintaining equipment, processing data, and participating in field checks to ensure the safety of our operations.
  • Key Responsibilities
    • Maintain and repair equipment and instruments used in avalanche observation and control.
    • Process data to conduct basic analyses of trends and identify potential avalanche hazards.
    • Participate in field checks and verification to ensure the accuracy and completeness of data.
    • Collaborate with team members to forecast and control avalanches in mountainous terrain.
    • Perform data entry and ensure the accuracy of records.
  • Requirements
    • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
    • Experience: 5 years or more in a related field.
    • Computer and technology knowledge: MS Access, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Word.
    • Specialized equipment and systems: Remote sensing equipment.
    • Area of specialization: Avalanche observation and control.
    • Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure, physically demanding.
    • Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
    • Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills, organized, team player.
    • Workplace information: On the road job, seasonal employment, 40 hours per week, English language.
