Job Title: Physiotherapy Helper

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Physiotherapy Helper to join our team at St. Catharines PhysioHeal & Massage. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in supporting our physiotherapists and occupational therapists in providing high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist healthcare professionals in the delivery of patient care, including setting up and dismantling equipment, cleaning and maintaining equipment, and preparing and maintaining equipment and supplies.
  • Carry out treatment programs under the direction of physiotherapists and/or occupational therapists to rehabilitate patients with various injuries or disabilities.
  • Develop information materials for patients, including educational handouts and visual aids.
  • Follow through on treatment programs with patients, ensuring that they understand their treatment plans and are able to perform their exercises and activities safely and effectively.
  • Help medical examiners in charge with patient care and documentation.
  • Assist physical therapists with patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Operate and maintain sterilization equipment and instrumentation for re-use according to standardized safety practices.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies, ensuring that they are properly stored and easily accessible.
  • Document patient rehabilitation progress, including recording vital signs and maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Prepare and maintain cleanliness of collection areas, including disposing of biohazardous waste and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Process files and paperwork, including scheduling and confirming appointments and managing patient records.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments, ensuring that patients are seen at the scheduled time and that their appointments are properly documented.
  • Take patients' general medical and ophthalmic history, including recording their medical history and any relevant allergies or sensitivities.
  • Manage routine office functions, including reception, telephone, and booking appointments.
  • Organize and maintain inventory, including ordering supplies and equipment as needed.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience an asset.
Work Setting:
  • Hospital/medical facility or clinic.
Language:
  • English.
Hours:
  • 30 to 40 hours per week.
