About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Deli Clerk to join our team at Calgary Co-op. As a Deli Clerk, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our deli department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide outstanding customer service by maintaining a safe and efficient operation, adhering to company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Perform all aspects of deli functions, including stocking, displays, and facing in an efficient and organized manner, ensuring display presentation and stock levels are maintained.
  • Handle merchandise, ensuring quality, minimizing damages, and markdowns, and provide substitutions and ensure price integrity, including price changes.
  • Perform general clean-up duties, such as cleaning spills and display fixtures, to ensure a neat and organized department, and responsible for keeping the sales floor and back stock area clean from cardboard and debris, as well as disposal of garbage.
Requirements
  • Grade 9 or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Previous retail or related experience.
  • Must be fluent in English (CLBA-Canadian Language Benchmark Assessment score of 5 or higher).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Deli product knowledge and experience.
  • Basic Word, Excel, and Outlook skills.
