At Ansys, we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Engineer to join our Customer Excellence team. As a key member of our team, you will partner with our customers to engineer innovative solutions, solve real-world engineering problems, and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical pre-sales support and professional services to customers, leveraging your expertise in Photonics simulation techniques.
  • Collaborate with customers to understand their product design needs and engineering workflows, analyzing how to address their requirements using Ansys products and platform.
  • Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in Photonics and optical engineering, staying up-to-date with industry trends and advancements.
  • Work closely with Ansys product development teams to translate customer requirements into exciting new product features.
  • Participate in internal corporate initiatives to enhance solution suites, presales/sales enablement, and professional growth.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in engineering, Applied Math, Computer Sciences, Physics, or relevant field.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Photonic/Optical engineering software environment.
  • Hands-on experience with designing components and running circuit-level simulations using Ansys Lumerical tools or other commercial nanophotonic/optical solvers.
  • Strong logical problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills, with fluency in writing and speaking English.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 25% of time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with semiconductor physics, charge transport effects, and coupling of optical, electrical, and thermal effects.
  • 2 years of experience in application engineering, customer support, or consulting services type customer-facing roles using engineering software.
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior business managers and C-level executives.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 50% of time.
