Job Summary:

Ruku Food & Services Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Japanese School Lunch Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing nutritious and delicious school lunch programs for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and improve school lunch recipes to meet the nutritional and culinary standards of our clients.
  • Design and implement operation procedures for each menu item to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Source and procure high-quality ingredients and supplies for the school lunch program.
  • Communicate with suppliers to ensure compliance with quality control, pricing, and purchasing requirements.
  • Supervise the preparation, cooking, and delivery of school lunches to ensure timely and safe delivery.
  • Ensure a nut-free environment and enforce government food safety regulations.
  • Attend school board meetings to present the Japanese school lunch program and respond to feedback.
  • Collaborate with the management team to improve the school lunch program based on feedback and performance metrics.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in school lunch facilities in Japan.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience supervising school lunch operations.
  • Ability to create Japanese recipes and menus.
  • Ability to work long hours and lift 20 KG weight.
  • Ontario driver's license required.
  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition and dietetics a bonus.
  • Fluent in speaking and writing in English.
  • Fluent in Japanese a bonus.
  • No criminal record certificate required.

What We Offer:

  • $29.00 per hour.
  • 2 weeks paid vacation annually from the 2nd year (not available during school year).
