About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Infrastructure Manager to join our team at Tata Communications. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for managing our data center services, designing and implementing IT infrastructure solutions, and leading a team of IT infrastructure professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Center Operations
    • Oversee the daily operations of our data center facilities, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
    • Manage physical and virtual server environments, storage systems, and networking equipment.
    • Own and manage internal and external audits and compliance.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of IT infrastructure professionals.
    • Coordinate work schedules, assign tasks, and manage performance.
  • Infrastructure Management
    • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure IT infrastructure solutions.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Capacity Planning and Optimization
    • Monitor and analyze data center capacity and performance.
    • Plan and implement capacity upgrades and optimizations to meet business needs.
  • Security and Compliance
    • Implement and enforce security policies and procedures.
    • Ensure data center infrastructure meets compliance standards and regulations.
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity
    • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
    • Conduct regular testing and updates to ensure readiness.
  • Vendor Management
    • Manage relationships with hardware, software, and service vendors.
    • Negotiate contracts, oversee service level agreements (SLAs), and ensure vendor performance.
  • Budget Management
    • Develop and manage the data center budget.
    • Monitor expenses and optimize costs without compromising performance and security.
  • Project Management
    • Lead infrastructure projects from planning to execution.
    • Coordinate with stakeholders, manage timelines, and ensure project deliverables.
  • Reporting and Documentation
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of data center configurations and processes.
    • Generate regular reports on data center performance, capacity, and other key metrics.
Requirements
  • 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, preferably with a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Strong experience with Linux, rack management, OpenStack, VMware, Windows, RHEL Satellite, PAM, and other relevant technologies.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage a team of IT professionals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to optimize data center capacity and performance.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation.
  • Ability to negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships.
  • Strong budgeting and financial management skills, with the ability to optimize costs without compromising performance and security.
