Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Dietary Cook-Baker to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a key member of our dietary team, you will be responsible for ensuring the nutritional needs of our patients, employees, and customers are met on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals for patients, employees, and customers in accordance with therapeutic diets and food safety guidelines.
  • Manage inventory and supplies, ensuring that all necessary ingredients and equipment are available.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement meal plans that meet the nutritional needs of our patients.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a recognized food preparation program.
  • Food Handler's Certificate.
  • Previous experience working in a hospital setting or dietary/food service environment.

Working Conditions

  • Work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent deadlines and high volumes of work.
  • Use sharp tools and equipment, and work in a kitchen environment with potential exposure to chemicals.
  • Stand for long periods of time, and lift objects up to 50 pounds.
