Commercial Director

Comtech Group Inc. is a leading consulting firm providing integrated consulting solutions on complex capital projects. We are seeking a highly experienced Commercial Director to support our GO Expansion Program.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 18 years of experience in Project Management and a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. They will be responsible for leading the commercial management of advanced works, target price, actual costs management, and mobilization and integration.
The Commercial Director will be responsible for:
- Directing and leading the GO Expansion program throughout its lifecycle, ensuring effective and efficient commercial policies, procedures, and best practices are in place.
- Providing guidance and leadership in the development of procurement documents and contracting structures; overseeing and developing strategies for contract negotiations and governance.
- Leading the development and implementation of commercial management plans and strategies to maximize funding opportunities while minimizing risk to the client.
- Leading a commercial team and interfacing with technical team members and other stakeholders for the development and successful implementation of commercial strategies.
- Identifying emerging commercial hot topics, issues, and risks; reporting contractual claims and leading the management and resolution of legal and/or commercial disputes.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of comprehensive strategies, methodologies, tools, and techniques for commercial management excellence.
- Undertaking commercial activities to support the GO Expansion program with respect to commercial management of advanced works, target price, actual costs management, and mobilization and integration.
- Assessing the development phase and early works, recommending appropriate changes to processes and resources.
- Initiating dialogue to create a collaborative, transparent, and constructive relationship with contractors.
- Reviewing existing processes and procedures and assessing their viability to provide controls and information during the life of the target cost implementation period.
- Building capability by sharing skills, knowledge, and experience.
- Leading the resolution of issues of corporate significance to protect commercial reputation.
- Overseeing commercial management services in areas of contract administration, procurement services, and claims management.
- Organizing commercial services activities per the mission and goals of the contract, project, or program.
- Creating and managing short and long-term commercial management services goals and success criteria.
- Drafting an operating and delivery plan along with a budget for the required commercial services.
- Exercising authority in managing the work and controlling the delivery of the services.
- Managing a team in the area of commercial management or combined services.
- Directing and supervising team dynamics and performance-related issues.
- Liaising with applicable representatives on team performance and commercial strategies.
- Outlining the human and material resources required to complete assigned contracts and projects successfully.
- Formulating a resource allocation strategy.
- Identifying risks, implementing mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
- Tracking, monitoring, and reporting performance against commercial requirements, contractual deliverables, schedules, milestones, budgets, quality measures, and KPIs.
- Evaluating commercial performance and effectiveness by consulting with clients and project staff.
- Developing and delivering progress reports, proposals, evaluations, and presentations.
- Engaging in ongoing quality control and participating in issue resolution for the project.
- Building and maintaining a positive, high-performing team culture.
- Monitoring and managing commercial staff focused on project performance objectives.
- Promoting an inclusive and diverse environment.
- Providing training to other members of the project team.
- Defining the success criteria and disseminating them throughout the contract, project, and program life cycle.
- Recommending and interpreting project and program expectations.
