Senior Estimator

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team at Wright Construction Western Inc. as a key member of our estimating department.
Job Summary:The Senior Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects, as well as preparing pre-qualification submissions to present to clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects
- Prepare pre-qualification submissions to present to clients
- Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
- Operate CADD and other computer software systems
- Provide economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects
- Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms
- Utilize quantity take-off procedures
- Advise on tendering procedures
- Analyze tenders and recommend awards
- Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems
- Monitor and adjust contract expenditures
- Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors
- Liaise, consult, and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
- Gold Seal Membership in the Canadian Construction Association
- Membership in the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors
- Membership in the Professional Corporation for Estimators
- Valid driver's licence
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
