Job Summary

As a key member of the EVRAZ North America team, the successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining heavy, motorized equipment to unload and load ferrous materials in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment to unload and load ferrous materials, ensuring a steady flow of materials in and out of the yard.
  • Collaborate with the scale operator and office staff to minimize traffic congestion and optimize material handling.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Identify and report any major equipment issues or repairs required.
  • Adhere to all company safety rules and policies, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and management to ensure smooth operation of the yard.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-3 years of recent experience in an operator position, preferably in a heavy equipment or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing, walking, sitting, climbing, crawling, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work overtime on Saturdays as needed.
