Carpentry Specialist

GTA Builders & Designers Ltd. is seeking a skilled Carpentry Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for reading blueprints, preparing layouts, and measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read blueprints and drawings to determine work requirements.
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes using measuring tools.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
- Estimate costs and materials.
- Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various establishments.
Working Environment:
The ideal candidate will have experience working in various locations, including residential, industrial, and commercial settings. They will be aware of the importance of maintaining a welcoming work environment for persons with disabilities, newcomers and refugees, and other diverse groups.
Requirements:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- 1 to less than 7 months of experience.
- Permanent work term.
- English language proficiency.
- Ability to work 30 to 40 hours per week.
