Job Summary:

Prairie Mountain Health is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in providing supportive technical functions for the Regional Pharmacy Program.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Procure, store, prepare, compound, package, maintain, issue and distribute drugs, chemicals and supplies in accordance with policy, directives and procedures of the Regional Pharmacy Program.

2. Review prescriptions for compliance with federal and provincial law.

3. Perform a final check on prepared drugs before dispensing.

4. Dispense drugs under the approval of a pharmacist.

5. Identify drug-related problems that require referral to a pharmacist.

6. Provide instructions to patients on the operation of medical devices.

7. Participate in quality assurance, quality improvement and quality control activities.

8. Maintain current knowledge of hospital disaster and contingency plans and WHMIS regulations.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Completion of a pharmacy technician program

• Current registration with the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
