Job Title: Finish Carpenter

We are seeking a skilled Finish Carpenter to join our team at Ottawa Finish Carpentry Inc.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for completing finish carpentry work on various construction projects, including residential and commercial buildings. This includes reading blueprints, preparing layouts, measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Scheduling and coordinating work on sites
  • Instructing apprentices
Requirements:
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in the field
  • Permanent employment
  • English as the primary language of work
  • 40 hours per week
Work Environment:

The work environment will be noisy and dusty, with a physically demanding workload. The successful candidate must be able to handle heavy loads, bend, crouch, and kneel. Steel-toed safety boots, a hard hat, and safety glasses/goggles are required.
