We are seeking an experienced Senior MEP Cost Consultant to join our successful Real Estate team in Ottawa, supporting top clients for Turner & Townsend. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering better outcomes for our clients, helping our people realize their potential, and contributing to a prosperous society.

Job Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Senior MEP Cost Consultant looking for the next step in their career or currently undertaking a similar role in a similar environment. You will have a minimum of 7 years post-graduate experience and a recognized university degree in Construction or a related field.

About the Role
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate Mechanical/Electrical cost estimates for all asset classes, at all levels of design, related to real estate throughout Canada.
  • Conduct research on construction market conditions throughout Canada, analyzing official published data.
  • Collaborate with Associate Directors and Directors to construct proposals for new work or variations for existing projects.
  • Develop detailed Construction Cost Estimate reports at all stages of design for commercial, institutional, and residential projects throughout Canada.
  • Manage estimating and cost planning activities, taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
  • Evaluate cost analysis, cost checking, and valuation work to ensure effective management.
  • Participate in Value engineering, LEED analysis, and Life Cycle costing initiatives.
  • Lead client-facing interactions at all project stages, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Effectively manage post-contract cost variances and change control processes.
  • Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to clients.
  • Develop and quantify Cost Plan Reports, including measurement of detailed quantities and unit pricing.
Requirements
  • Mandatory Requirements:
  • A minimum of 7 years of MEP Estimating experience (preferably in real estate).
  • A recognized university degree in Construction or a related field.
  • Certification or designation from a professional organization is an asset.
