We are seeking an experienced and ambitious MEP Cost Consultant to join our dynamic team at Turner & Townsend in Ottawa. As a key member of our Real Estate team, you will have the opportunity to work with top clients and contribute to the success of our projects.


The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 7 years of post-graduate experience in MEP estimating, preferably in the real estate sector. A recognized university degree in Construction or a related field is also required. Membership in relevant professional organizations, such as RICS, CIQS, or AACEI, is essential. Certification or designation from a professional organization, like MRICS or PQS, is highly desirable.


In this role, you will be responsible for preparing Mechanical/Electrical cost estimates for all asset classes and design levels related to real estate throughout Canada. You will also assist in research related to construction market conditions and help develop new business opportunities with existing and new clients.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Preparing detailed cost estimates for MEP systems in commercial, institutional, and residential projects
  • Conducting research on construction market trends and analyzing official data
  • Developing proposals for new work and variations on existing projects
  • Improving cost management procedures and processes
  • Leading cost estimate production and ensuring timely delivery
  • Participating in value engineering, LEED analysis, and life cycle costing
  • Managing estimating and cost planning activities
  • Ensuring effective cost analysis, checking, and valuation work
  • Interfacing with clients and other consultants at all project stages
  • Leading cost estimate production and ensuring timely delivery
  • Financial management, including margin tracking and fee/resource forecasting
  • Managing post-contract cost variances and change control processes
  • Producing monthly post-contract cost reports
  • Preparation and quantification of cost plan reports

Compensation:


The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience. This figure is based on industry standards and takes into account the level of expertise and qualifications required for the role. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a retirement savings plan.
