Your Opportunity:
At Alberta Health Services, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Health Care Aide to join our team in Elk Point. As a Health Care Aide, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care services in our 30-bed Long Term Care unit and other departments within our facility.
About the Role:
As a collaborative member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide personal assistance to patients who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. Your responsibilities will include supporting activities of daily living, providing support services, and assisting nurses with routine care to meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal assistance to patients, including support with activities of daily living and support services
- Assist nurses with routine care, including hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs
- Work closely with patients, families, and caregivers to provide patient-centered care
- Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors
- Communicate effectively with patients and health professionals
Requirements:
- Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory
- Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrolment from the Directory
- Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum may be considered
