We are currently seeking:

GHD is on the lookout for a Lead Mechanical Process Engineer to become a vital part of our team. Our Mechanical Design division provides engineering support primarily in Ontario, while also contributing to our extensive network of over 10,000 GHD professionals worldwide. We manage all aspects of mechanical design, focusing on process mechanical elements, mechanical utility services, and ensuring seamless collaboration with various core disciplines for integrated project delivery. Our projects encompass a wide range of sectors, including water and wastewater management, co-generation, biogas and natural gas systems, agricultural and food services, and industrial facility support. Our team faces a diverse array of projects and challenges, varying in scale and complexity, which requires our Mechanical Engineering experts to demonstrate adaptability in addressing a broad spectrum of design needs.

As a member of a dynamic and high-performing team, this position entails a variety of responsibilities, including:

  • Evaluating client technical specifications and mechanical engineering needs
  • Leading and overseeing the development of mechanical system designs and managing the production of drawings and 3D models
  • Coordinating hydraulic and stress analyses for critical piping systems
  • Creating, reviewing, and taking responsibility for contract documentation and specifications related to process mechanical requirements
  • Collaborating with core discipline teams and internal/external stakeholders to efficiently align and achieve project objectives
  • Mentoring team members, providing guidance to both junior engineers and engineering technicians
  • Ensuring clear and effective technical communication with stakeholders at various management levels
  • Regularly interacting with clients, vendors, and contractors to maintain productive communication

Qualifications and skills we seek:

  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • A minimum of 10 years of industry experience, ideally with a focus on municipal and industrial water/wastewater facilities
  • Experience in designing large wastewater pumping stations for municipal applications
  • Project management experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with BIM 360, REVIT, AutoCAD, and NavisWorks is advantageous
  • Ability to adapt to diverse client needs and project types
  • Strong analytical, mechanical, and problem-solving skills
  • Capability to lead and multitask within a team environment with keen attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey technical information to varied audiences
  • Possession of a valid Ontario driver's license and willingness to travel within Ontario and Canada as required
