NAC Constructors Ltd. is a leading construction company based in Morriston, ON, seeking an experienced Executive Director of Construction Operations to lead our operations department and drive project success.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per yearJob Description:
  • Oversee daily construction operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction.
  • Lead senior client relations, managing budgets, schedules, and contractors.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure project completion and company profitability.
Responsibilities:
  1. Support the NAC Health & Safety Program and contribute to meeting annual goals and objectives.
  2. Prioritize and execute construction projects from pre-development to execution.
  3. Maximize operational performance, achieving production and financial targets.
  4. Manage project P&L, client relations, and operation management.
  5. Identify opportunities to increase profitability and reduce costs, analyzing financial reports and preparing operating budgets.
  6. Implement corporate policies and procedures for the operational department.
  7. Assist in establishing and ensuring compliance with short-term and long-term goals for operational units.
  8. Provide support to multiple projects, focusing on operational, financial, and resource aspects.
  9. Oversee project financial accountability and controls, ensuring appropriate fiscal controls are in place.
  10. Represent NAC in negotiations or official functions, maintaining strong client relationships.
  11. Assist in resolving disputes outside of project level.
  12. Monitor potential problems, recommending corrective action and coordinating with professional staff.
  13. Maintain awareness of competitors, expansion opportunities, markets, and industry developments.
  14. Perform additional assignments as required by the operational unit, company, or President.
Leadership Qualities:
  • Demonstrate leadership by directing, supporting, and motivating staff.
  • Guide project management teams to optimize contractual work execution.
  • Evaluate and direct the work of employees, including Project Managers and indirect reports.
  • Foster a positive working environment, promoting productivity, morale, and employee well-being.
  • Cultivate the project team for succession planning, coaching and developing staff.
  • Allocate staff to meet short-term work requirements, assigning and scheduling tasks.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise activities of all company personnel on assigned projects.
  • Resolve conflicts within project teams and lead PMs and internal stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 5-10 years of project management experience, covering scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, resources, and communications.
  • Self-motivated, able to work in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, for interacting with project stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to make sound decisions under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to organize, plan, and manage multiple activities to achieve desired results.
  • Commitment to quality, evaluating project processes and making necessary changes.
  • Integrity, supporting company values and meeting/exceeding client expectations.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
