About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Building Maintenance Worker to join our team at Alberta Ltd. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our premises.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sweep, mop, and polish floors to ensure a clean and safe environment
  • Dust and clean furniture and fixtures to maintain a high level of cleanliness
  • Vacuum and clean carpets, rugs, and upholstered furniture to ensure a clean and healthy environment
  • Handle and report lost and found items to ensure a smooth operation
  • Pick up debris and empty trash containers to maintain a clean and organized environment
  • Wash windows, walls, and ceilings to ensure a clean and well-maintained environment
Support for Newcomers and Refugees

  • Assist with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees, such as housing, transportation, and storage
  • Support social and labor market integration of newcomers and/or refugees, such as facilitating access to community resources and language training
  • Recruit newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or natural disaster
  • Offer mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees
  • Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees
Support for Indigenous People

We are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive work environment for Indigenous employees. As a Building Maintenance Worker, you will have the opportunity to support our organization's efforts to integrate Indigenous employees into our community.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, Indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations
  • Provide cultural competency training and awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous employees
  • Facilitate access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous employees
Requirements
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Will train on the job
  • Ability to work 32 hours per week
  • English language proficiency
