Position Overview
The University of Regina invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Biology, focusing on Sexually-Transmitted and Blood-Borne Infections. This opportunity is part of the Canada Research Chair (CRC) Program, which aims to foster research excellence in Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish a novel research program in Sexually-Transmitted and Blood-Borne Infections, with a focus on molecular aspects, pathogen biology, and diagnostics.
- Engage in academic and scholarly activity, including teaching undergraduate or graduate courses in biology.
- Develop a vibrant, collaborative research environment and build strong ties with the Roy Romanow Provincial Laboratory and the Saskatchewan Health Authority.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and networking skills.
- Potential to attract and train high-quality personnel in biology, microbiology, genetics, diagnostics, epidemiology, biostatistics, or bioinformatics.

Eligibility

The successful candidate will be expected to complete a CRC application for review by early October 2024. The University and CRC program recognize that scholars have varying career paths and that career interruptions can be part of excellent academic records.
