Security Officer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Security Clerk to join our team at Lake Country Co-op. As a Security Clerk, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our customers, employees, and assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and patrol premises regularly, including entrances and parking areas
- Investigate and act as a security agent for the area, team leaders, and guests
- Address all infractions or incidents and report to the appropriate team leader and asset protection
- Answer radio and investigate disturbances as needed by the department
- Keep daily logs of events and activities addressed
- Respond to shoplifting notifications appropriately and monitor other forms of internal and external loss
- Alert authorities in cases of emergency, such as fire or the presence of unauthorized persons
- Circulate among visitors and patrons regularly to protect order and enforce trespassing on all uninvited persons
- Engage and interact with guests to create a positive shopping experience
- Perform cart service, general cleaning, and site and image maintenance
- Deliver member service and customer care as assigned
Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Experience as a security guard and with customer service would be an asset
- Good understanding of legal guidelines for security and public safety
- Honest and trustworthy, results-oriented, and strives to be the best in the work
- Well-organized and capable of attaining a high level of production with a minimum amount of supervision
- Believes in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication and conflict resolution skills
- Flexible work schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- CPR or First Aid training would be considered an asset
