About the Role:

ORBCOMM is seeking a seasoned VP, Strategy and Innovation to lead the development and execution of the Satellite Line of Business strategic plan. This key role will report to the EVP GM Satellite IoT and be based in Ottawa, ON.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to drive business growth and expansion.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to identify and evaluate emerging trends, market opportunities, and competitive threats.
  • Drive long-term planning and ensure alignment with the company's vision and mission.
  • Develop and track KPIs to measure the effectiveness of initiatives.
  • Identify and assess new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop trusted relationships and understand market requirements.
  • Ensure continuous improvement and optimization of business processes.

Requirements:

  • Strong business acumen with knowledge of profit/loss, EBITDA, recurring revenue, and more.
  • Minimum of 7 years product management or equivalent experience delivering software, software as a service, hardware products, satellite technology, preferably related to the Internet-of-Things (IoT).
  • Minimum of 7 years product, program, and/or project management experience in leading cross-functional teams in delivery of major new products or services.
  • Ideal candidate will have deep domain experience in Internet of Things as it applies to shipping, ports, and related.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to negotiate and reach consensus across diverse groups/teams.
  • Significant experience translating customer, market, and general business requirements into cohesive product plans and requirements.
  • Must possess a collaborative working style and thrive in a team environment.
  • Energetic self-starter with ability to work independently in a competitive and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Collaborative and inspiring leadership style that naturally motivates team members to be their best.
  • Position requires local and international travel to customer and non-customer sites (50-75%).
  • Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent experience.
