Senior Underwriter, Financial Institutions Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter, Financial Institutions to join our team at AXIS Capital. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for analyzing, reviewing, and evaluating new and renewal accounts for complex policies in the financial institutions sector.
Key Responsibilities- Underwrite and manage an existing book of financial institution business, adhering to company policies and processes.
- Develop new business and grow the business profitably, identifying target markets and developing relationships with existing and potential brokers.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase AXIS' market presence and promote our financial institutions products.
- Work closely with other profit centers and distribution staff to develop internal relationships and drive business growth.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, maintaining a deep understanding of risk management principles and insurance products.
- 3+ years' experience in specialty insurance, with a strong understanding of risk management principles and underwriting practices.
- Advanced technical expertise, underwriting skills, and knowledge of insurance and underwriting principles, practices, and procedures.
- Experience in assessing company financials, analyzing stock metrics, and managing individual portfolios.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent negotiation skills, strong marketing abilities, and a team player mentality.
