Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Aspira Island View Retirement Living. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing general repair and maintenance work, ensuring the upkeep of our communities and providing a safe and comfortable living environment for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute general repair and maintenance work, including painting, plastering, basic plumbing, woodworking, and electrical work.
  • Clean and maintain floors, hallways, stairways, and common areas.
  • Empty garbage and recycling receptacles and maintain building exterior, grounds, and parking lots.
  • Remove snow and apply salt to ensure resident, visitor, and team member safety.
  • Mow and water grass, tend to flower gardens, and apply fertilizer as needed.
  • Complete required forms and documents, and write reports as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Certification, training, and work experience in building repairs, painting and finishes, floor care, safety procedures, property maintenance, plumbing, heating, and air conditioning.
  • 1-2 years' experience in a similar position.
  • Proven customer service skills and excellent command of verbal and written English language.
  • Sound knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team.
