Environmental Services Assistant

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional service and making a positive impact on the lives of others? As an Environmental Services Assistant at Aspira Island View Retirement Living, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute general repair and maintenance work, including painting, plastering, basic plumbing, woodworking, and electrical tasks.
  • Clean and maintain floors, hallways, stairways, and common areas to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Empty garbage and recycling receptacles regularly to prevent waste accumulation.
  • Maintain building exteriors, grounds, and parking lots.
  • Remove snow and apply salt to ensure resident, visitor, and team member safety.
  • Mow and water grass, tend to flower gardens, and apply fertilizer as needed.
  • Complete required forms and documents, and write reports as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Certification, training, and work experience in building repairs, painting, floor care, safety procedures, property maintenance, plumbing, heating, and air conditioning.
  • 1-2 years' experience in a similar position.
  • Proven customer service skills and excellent command of verbal and written English language.
  • Sound knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team.
  • Pass a Vulnerable Sector Check (Ontario applicants) or Criminal Records Check (British Columbia applicants).
