Lynn Lake Project Overview

Alamos Gold's Lynn Lake project is a high-grade open pit gold deposit in Canada, located in northern Manitoba. The project consists of two primary sites, MacLellan and Gordon, which are situated east of the Town of Lynn Lake. With its low costs and excellent infrastructure, the project presents a significant opportunity for growth and development.

Role Summary

The Environmental Technical Lead at Alamos Gold Inc.'s Lynn Lake Gold Project provides technical support and leadership to staff, ensuring compliance with Federal and Provincial regulations, corporate conditions, and Indigenous Nation agreement conditions. This role is based in Lynn Lake, Manitoba, with a 15/13 rotation schedule. Travel and accommodations will be provided at the Company's expense.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the technical team in meeting environmental monitoring requirements.
  2. Schedule monitoring and reporting duties to ensure compliance with permits and plans.
  3. Develop and implement environmental monitoring programs.
  4. Conduct compliance sampling and monitoring for surface and groundwater, air quality, hydrology, and other biophysical parameters.
  5. Inspect and track waste management and hazardous materials.
  6. Maintain continuity in monitoring programs based on regulatory and commitment requirements.
  7. Maintain environmental-related records and documentation.
  8. Ensure maintenance of environmental monitoring instruments and testing equipment.
  9. Manage inventory stock of necessary reagents and field supplies.
  10. Assist in preparing compliance and regulatory reports.
  11. Develop and implement the Environmental Management System and related policies, standards, and procedures.
  12. Participate in implementing and maintaining the environmental emergency response plan.
  13. Ensure safe monitoring locations with proper signage are established and safe access is ensured.
Requirements
  1. Post-secondary degree in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Geoscience, or a related field.
  2. At least three years of experience in a mining environment.
  3. Three years of supervisory experience.
  4. Understanding of mining and milling processes and their environmental impacts.
  5. Knowledge of Municipal, Provincial (Manitoba), and Federal Acts and Regulations.
  6. Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  8. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  9. Ability to work independently and in team environments.
  10. Proficiency in MS Office applications and database programs.
  11. Ability to work outdoors in inclement conditions.
  12. Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, the environment, and community.
