We are seeking an experienced Shipper Receiver to join our team at a Label Printing Company in Scarborough. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for accurately receiving and shipping products, as well as maintaining a safe and organized warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities- Pick and prepare products for shipment in a timely manner
- Load and unload product from trucks and couriers
- Complete order picking, shipping, and receiving documentation accurately
- Responsible for accurately receiving and moving materials to warehouse storage
- Organize and prioritize orders to be picked and print shipping documentation as required
- Use software to generate documentation and shipping labels
- Understand the importance of inventory control and assist with cycle counts
- Responsible for quality control, reporting and rejecting product outside of specifications
- Operate reach and counterbalance forklifts and stretch wrappers
- Frequent lifting of product cases up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working with tools and machinery as some assembly work may be required
- Perform equipment preventative maintenance
- Communicate well with co-workers and willing to assist others
- Clean and maintain work and warehouse area
- Operate within health and safety regulations and company policies
- Assist in other areas of the plant when required
- Strong work ethic with leadership skills, responsible and takes pride in their work
- Forward thinking to maintain a clean, neat and well-organized warehouse
- Prioritize workload to finish on a tight schedule
- Effectively track work in progress
- Detail oriented, can read and understand work orders and follow procedures
- Inventory management experience is an asset
- A self-starter capable of independent work but also work well in a team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written
- Must have previous experience working with machinery, hand tools and have basic mechanical knowledge
- Experience working with shipping software and business desktop and web software applications
- 2+ years of experience working as an order picker, shipper and receiver
- WHIMS and TDG knowledge and certification an asset
- Third party Counter Balance certification (Not Mandatory)
This position is physically demanding. It requires repetitive bending, twisting and lifting of up to 50 pounds.
Education: High school diploma/GED required.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Starting rate is $17.00 per hour
Shift: 9:00 am to 7:00 pm
