Governance and Policy Expert
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of governance processes and practices at Engineers and Geoscientists BC. As a Senior Policy and Governance Analyst, you will work closely with the Manager, Governance and Policy to lead the delivery of governance functions, including Board nominations, Board Elections, and the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Your expertise in policy development and government relations will be invaluable in supporting the organization's strategic objectives.

About the Job
The Senior Policy and Governance Analyst is responsible for conducting research and analysis on matters pertaining to government proposals, new policy, and legislation. You will also provide support for organizational governance processes, including researching practices at comparable organizations and developing recommendations and reports. Additionally, you will work with internal partners to implement new policy and regulatory requirements, coordinating the policy response/development process, and leading the Board Nominations process. Other key responsibilities include planning and implementing the government relations program, tracking lobbying activities, and reporting progress towards organizational objectives.

Responsibilities
- Conducting research and analysis on government proposals, new policy, and legislation
- Providing support for organizational governance processes
- Working with internal partners to implement new policy and regulatory requirements
- Coordinating the policy response/development process
- Leading the Board Nominations process
- Planning and implementing the government relations program

Skills and Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience working in a policy or public administration environment
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills
