Job Description

The Medical Imaging Team Lead plays a crucial role in providing leadership and collaboration to ensure high-quality laboratory medicine medical services at Island Health. This position is part of the Division Head team, reporting directly to the Department Head of Diagnostic Imaging.

Responsibilities
  • Medical Workforce Planning: Collaborate with the Department Head and Medical Affairs to monitor and anticipate division workforce needs, addressing identified needs proactively.
  • Practice Standards: Develop and maintain medical practice standards, leading routine monitoring and implementation.
  • Research and Education: Support division members in conducting research and providing medical education, fostering continuous quality improvement.
  • Individual Practitioner Quality (IPQ): Facilitate IPQ improvement through effective credentialing, privileging activities, CPD, and practitioner performance enhancement.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Attend LMAC meetings within assigned geography.
  • Meet with Department Head and other Division Heads as required.
  • Hold regular divisional member quality meetings, minimum four per year.
  • Provide early intervention and support Chiefs of Staff in matters of medical professional behavior.
  • Dedicate time to this position during Island Health regular working hours or as agreed upon with the Department Head.
  • Participate in orientation and training.
Main Responsibilities of the Medical Lead Position
  1. Leadership: Co-lead activities to ensure physicians and staff work collaboratively to monitor and improve service delivery.
  2. Operations & Quality: Implement processes to engage physicians and staff in continuous quality improvement, monitoring team budget and performance jointly with the Co-Leader.
  3. Change Management: Act as change management 'champion' to engage and support physicians and staff through change.
  4. Informatics: Lead team activities advancing technology and data use to improve service delivery using EHRs in collaboration with the Quality Systems team.
  5. Planning: Assess, monitor, and anticipate team resource needs, working with medical leaders and administrative leaders to prioritize these needs within available resources.

Estimated Salary: $110,000 - $140,000 annually, based on location and experience.
