Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Credit Analyst to join our team at Scotiabank in Canada. As a key member of the Lending Services department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the overall success of our business strategies and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • You will champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • You will contribute to loan growth and profitability by analyzing customer loan applications, determining customer affordability, performing structured and analytic functions on loan applications, and completing risk assessments.
  • You will ensure sound and timely due diligence in loan underwriting by investigating, evaluating, and documenting customer loan applications.
  • You will refer exception credit situations to the Manager, Credit as required for speedy escalation and equitable resolution.
Requirements
  • DIRECT EXPERIENCE IN PRIME OR NON-PRIME FINANCING ADJUDICATION PREFERRED.
  • Strong attention to detail is essential for this role.
  • SUPERB WRITTEN AND VERBAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS ARE REQUIRED.
  • Experience in credit analysis is highly valued.
  • Functional knowledge of MS Word, Excel, credit decisioning, and loan application software is necessary.
Benefits and Compensation

We offer a competitive salary of approximately $85,000 - $105,000 per year, based on your skills and experience. In addition, you will have access to comprehensive benefits, including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a generous retirement plan.

Location

This role is based in one of our locations in Canada: Ontario (Hamilton), Alberta (Calgary), British Columbia (Burnaby or Vancouver), or Quebec (Anjou). We are seeking candidates who are available to work Monday and Friday between 5-9pm, and Saturdays between 9am - 8pm.
