Central Victoria Veterinary Hospital is seeking a skilled Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our 24-hour ER and Specialty Referral Centre. This role will work closely with our ER DVMs and board-certified specialists in a fast-paced, stimulating environment.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a desire to grow their skills, and a positive attitude. They will also have excellent communication skills and be able to deliver exceptional customer service. This position requires flexibility to work on a rotating schedule, but it also offers a great work-life balance.
New graduates are welcome to apply and will benefit from a teaching environment that includes mentorship from experienced RVTs, advanced learning opportunities, and specialized training. The successful candidate will have completed a Veterinary Technologist or Animal Health Technologist program and have knowledge of physical examinations, patient assessment, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, venipuncture, and pharmacy.
The responsibilities of this role include:
- Preparing and assisting with surgical procedures
- Monitoring anesthesia and patient recovery
- Keeping accurate and detailed patient records
- Providing compassionate care to hospitalized patients and their owners
- Managing multiple priorities simultaneously
- Problem-solving and asking clarifying questions to facilitate effective solution-finding
- Working effectively with colleagues and pet owners
- Pursuing ongoing learning and professional development
