Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Inventory Planning and Supply Chain Optimization Specialist to join our team at HF Sinclair. This is an 18-month temporary full-time contract with a salary of $110,000 per year.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the product planning systems and ensuring the integrity of key data that drives requirement estimates for Global Supply Chain in the Lubricants business. They will manage Aspen Tech Inventory Planning, Replenishment Planning, and Plant Scheduler software to model and represent the needs of the business, triggering product making and moving in anticipation of customer demand.

This involves reviewing and refining listings history and Logility generated finished product forecast to establish manufacturing and replenishment models that drive blending and packaging trigger points for highly complex manufacturing, warehouse replenishment strategy, and component requirement estimates for suppliers.

The Analyst must also sustain the models and adopt changes in the product line and the distribution network to stay current with the needs of the business while containing working capital to business targets and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

The position works collaboratively with Forecasting/Manufacturing/Supply Chain/IT/Sales/Operations and Planning teams to address day-to-day business process problems, support change initiatives, identify continuous process improvement opportunities, and provide advanced levels of support, coaching, and training to business users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversees/manages user network for Lubricants' production scheduling and warehouse replenishment
  • Defines strategic guidelines for manufacturing and warehouse operations to maintain On Time In Full customer order fulfillment targets
  • Provides strategic adjustments of finished product forecast that feeds Inventory Planning, Replenishment Planning, and Plant Scheduling models
  • Defines and reports forecast accuracy and demand variability metrics for finished products
  • Manages and provides key decision-making data for the whole of Lubricants used in manufacturing and replenishment for our supply network
  • Regulates manufacturing operations by defining re-order points for packaged production based on proposed forecast (~1700 SKU's)
  • Provides operational guidelines to warehouse replenishment by defining inventory targets for 20+ distribution warehouses/3rd Party Locations across the world as measured by Service Level targets
  • Develops process improvements to leverage SAP functionality to enable success of strategic business implementations
  • Works collaboratively with Forecasting/Distribution/IT to provide assistance with designing, developing, implementing, and enhancing business processes
  • Implements change management activities with end users in support of new business processes and enhanced system functionality
  • Exercises operational knowledge to pursue opportunities for scheduling software functionality enhancement projects to improve business profitability
  • Works with user community in ensuring the integrity of the master data
  • Supports Global Inventory Optimization, Distribution, and Manufacturing Services departments with integration into Sales
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in inventory management and optimization
  • Experience of finished product inventory, production scheduling, warehouse replenishment, and Forecasting/Demand Planning processes is required
  • Working experience related to Business Warehouse and Lubricants SAP (material master, production, inventory, warehouse movement transactions) is an asset
Education and Skills
  • Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, Economics, or related discipline however, a combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Strong understanding of Manufacturing, Inventory Management, Supply Network Planning, and Distribution concepts
  • High computer literacy, strong understanding of programming concepts
  • Advanced expertise in Aspen Tech's Plant Scheduler (MIMI) and Logility with ability to troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues
  • Representation of manufacturing processes in MIMI and Logility software, development of resolutions to business needs using algorithms and expert system rules
  • Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills

This is a hybrid role with 3 days in office and 2 days working from home. The position requires sitting long periods at a computer terminal and involves working in a 24/7 manufacturing plant environment.
