This opportunity is part of our Radio Systems Architecture Team at our Ottawa, Ontario location. The selected candidate will participate in a 12-month Co-Op from January 2025 to December 2025.

About the Role

This position involves assisting in the concept, design, integration, and delivery of complex multichip, multi-technology RFIC-based wireless module solutions for Wi-Fi applications. You will gain hands-on experience in the RF electronic component design environment, suitable for those seeking a career in RF and analog integrated circuits.

The selected candidate will be involved in all aspects of product realization and work with an extended cross-site team to validate and deliver high-performance RF products from concept to high volume markets.

Responsibilities
  • Automation of testing for RFICs and multichip modules
  • Performing RF tests, evaluations, and summarizing results to present to RF Systems and RF Design engineers
  • Development and characterization of WLAN waveforms
  • Simulating EVM and backfitting simulation results to measured data for various PAs and FEMs
  • Evaluating the performance of WLAN RF front-end modules, including amplitude distortion, phase distortion, out-of-band emissions, PA distortion, LNA noise figure, and LNA linearity
Requirements
  • CURRENT enrollment in an EE or Engineering Physics Bachelor's or Master's degree program; must return to school after completion of this Co-Op (graduated students not considered)
  • Self-starter, comfortable scripting in MATLAB
  • Background in RF/microwave circuits, including fundamental RF parameters, RF testing, and RF test equipment knowledge
  • Strong proficiency in MATLAB, Excel, PowerPoint, and data organization
  • Knowledge of RF parameters (insertion loss, return loss, harmonics, IMD, IIP2/3, VSWR, NF) is an asset; background in RF and Microwave design
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience using RF equipment such as oscilloscope, VNA, VSA, spectrum analyzer, RF sources
  • RFIC design and simulation experience a plus; working familiarity with C/C++ or Python an asset but not mandatory
Compensation and Benefits

The typical pay range for this internship is CAD $25.00 - $44.00 per hour. Starting base pay depends on education level and job duties.
