Job Title: Note Taker and Captioner

We are seeking highly skilled and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Note Takers and Captioners at Habitat Learn Inc. As a Note Taker and Captioner, you will play a vital role in providing academic support to students with disabilities by attending classes, taking notes, and creating transcripts of lectures.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend classes and take notes on a laptop, capturing key information and major topics
  • Transcribe lectures using Messenger Pigeon, verbatim of what the instructor said
  • Organize notes and transcripts to create study aids for students

Requirements:

  • Completed post-secondary education or about to graduate
  • Strong typing skills with a speed of 60+ wpm
  • Comfortable working in an academic environment
  • Sensitivity to the needs of people with disabilities
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Minimum of 2 professional references
  • Police Clearance Certificate

We require a minimum commitment of one academic semester. Assignments vary depending on the student's schedules, typically taking place between 8am – 9pm Monday to Saturday.
