**Job Overview**
The Superintendent, Process Operations will lead our safety culture at the Ekati Diamond Mine, working closely with all departments and levels of the organization. This role requires a strong focus on safety, as well as the ability to interact frequently in the field and with all departments.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Participate and advocate all Health, Safety, Environment, and Security programs, ensuring safety is embedded in all aspects of operations.
- Ensure all legal and contractual requirements are met, including those under the NWT Mines Health & Safety Act.
- Actively participate in goal setting and strategic planning for all processing operations.
- Promote and drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the business.
- Meet targets and objectives through rigorous monitoring and control of activities.
- Assist in developing and managing departmental budgets, including evaluating and reviewing processing methods and equipment.
- Manage technical activities, ensuring a safe operating process is defined and applied.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the process plant team, using best practice.
- Accountability for achieving targets and ensuring effective cost management.
**Requirements**
- Degree in Metallurgical, Process Engineering, or related discipline.
- At least seven (7) years of progressive experience in processing roles, preferably in diamond processing.
- At least five (5) years' experience in a supervisory role.
- Proven communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to gain buy-in from within the team and other departments.
- Experience working in the mining industry, northern Canada, and an understanding of the northern regulatory environment is preferred.
